The WWF

The WWF Is trying to help the freshwater seals. The WWF is trying to build snowbanks for  the freshwater seals so they can have baby's. If the seals have their baby's in ice they have a higher chance of dying, so they are building the snow banks so they can have their baby's in there.

  1. Talofa Ni Joshua,

I can tell you were paying close attention to the video because you have talked about lots of the information that was shared, ka pai! WWF is doing an important job to protect these Seal Pups from the dangers that surround them. Do you think they've been very successful in keeping the Freshwater Seal Pups safe?

Perhaps next time you could add some information about the techniques and tools they use to build these snowbanks that protect the Freshwater Seal Pups and help them survive.

It's very concerning how little Freshwater Seals there are in the wild. It reminds me of our treasured bird, the Kakapo who are also an endangered species. Do you know of any other endangered species in Aotearoa?

Keep up the good work, it's good to see you working hard on the Summer Learning Journey Joshua.

    Toe feiloa'i fo'i,

    1. Hi Joshua,

Thank you for sending those names through. Māui dolphins are very interesting to look at, they remind me of orcas (because of the patterns). I did a little research on the Chesterfield Skink, it is said that they are Aotearoa's most colourful Skink... I wonder if it's true.
