Pouted rivers.

My two pouted rivers I have chosen is titirangi   beach and bethells lagoon.
Both of them are in Auckland titirangi is in titirangi  and bethells is in the west coast
They are doing nothing to bethells lagoon and titirangi but people are trying to get people do stuff for it.

  1. Hi Joshua,

It's Leslie here, writing to you from Canada as a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. Right now many of our rivers are frozen solid, as are our lakes, because we're in the middle of our winter time. That might be hard for you to imagine as you enjoy your summer holidays!!

I think the word describing the 2 rivers you've written about is "polluted", rather than 'pouted'.

I've looked up the Titirangi beach area and Bethells lagoon and I see what you mean about there being a concern about pollution. What a shame!! It's hard to believe that the ocean beaches can be affected when you think of the size of the ocean and the amount of water in it that is receiving the pollution coming down the rivers. You'd think the ocean would be able to 'absorb' whatever is coming into it, but not so.

I wonder if you could give a little more detail about what the city of Auckland, or groups within Auckland, are doing to clean the rivers up? Is this concern something that is written about in the newspaper so that it's well known? Or is the pollution a problem that only people living near by the rivers would be aware of?

I hope you're able to get to some nice, clean beaches this summer and do some swimming/playing in the water!! It's so important to have some fun the sun, if you can!!

Keep up your great efforts! I'll keep reading your blog.

    Cheers,

    Leslie
