For fundraising for the great barrier reef my three ideas are.
1 Have a marathon and get people to pay 25 dollars to get in.
2 Have a big business pay money and put there name on front of a big billboard that says I have donated funds for the great barrier reef.
3 Make a lemonade stand to raise money for it.
4 Make a pest control area and also a strictly no dumping thing like a net over the whole coral reef just big enough for animals to get in.
5 Make a big petition on it and say all the bad things that are happening and protest about it.
Hi there Joshua,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Toe'umu, and I go to Wesley Intermediate. I love your fund raising ideas Joshua. My favourite idea is to start a marathon. Because it would be fun. Also it can be good for exercise. Maybe next time you could say what you would do to fund raise and why.
Blog you later,
Toe'umu
Hi Joshua,
ReplyDeleteIt's Leslie here, writing to you from Canada as a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. You've done a great job of coming up with ideas for fundraising for the protection of the Great Barrier Reef. Good work!
I think your idea of organizing a marathon is a particularly great idea because people who love to be active in the out-of-doors are often the same people who are concerned about caring for the world around us. I think you'd get lots of participants!!
And asking a business to contribute funds and then giving them the credit is another great way of raising a lot of money and awareness. And then you're also suggesting something that would be very hands-on for yourself in having a lemonade stand. That's work on a hot day but it would raise awareness, again, because it would give passers-by someone to talk to about this issue.
I'm so glad that you're involved in the Summer Learning Journey program this year. This is great. Are you also playing a bit of sport this summer or getting out to the beaches?
Here in Canada we're in the middle of a really cold spell in our winter. The temperatures are around -20 C. so we have to put on every piece of clothing we own when we take our dog out for a walk. We have lots of snow on the ground and more is coming this week. Isn't it amazing that we can live on the same planet and yet be having completely different experiences at any one time?
Keep up your good work and I'll keep reading your blog.
Cheers,
Leslie
